ImageFIRST Healthcare Laundry Specialists recently made a significant donation of various medical linen products to the Illinois-based nonprofit One World Surgery to support their project to build a health center in the Dominican Republic, according to a news release.

One World Surgery (OWS) recently announced that they are expanding their service efforts in the Dominican Republic. With the construction of a new site to include a surgery center, primary care clinic and visitor center, the community will have the opportunity to receive long-term, quality healthcare.

ImageFIRST has partnered with One World Surgery previously — supplying their Honduras facility with the linen and scrubs needed at the time. When they learned about OWS’s new construction project in the Dominican Republic, they reconnected to learn about how they could help support their new facility.

“We partnered with One World Surgery several years ago when they were beginning their impactful work in Honduras,” said Bill Roberts, senior vice president of sales at ImageFIRST. “I had recently heard their call-out about needing supplies for their newest project in the Dominican Republic; I knew that ImageFIRST would be eager to be involved again.”

ImageFIRST donated more than 2,500 medical linen products totaling more than $10,000 to One World Surgery to support their new facilities in the Dominican Republic. Donated items included products such as patient gowns, bed linen, towels, microfiber mops, floor mats, cubicle curtains, medical staff scrubs and surgical gowns.
