TRSA recently held a live webinar titled “TRSA Advocacy Efforts and Policy Update” to discuss federal and state legislative and regulatory issues, how they impact the linen, uniform and facility services industry, and provide updates on TRSA’s efforts to advocate on behalf of the industry at both the state and federal levels.

TRSA associate member MIP Inc., Montreal, recently added Dave Flattem to its U.S. sales team. Flattem joins the MIP staff as a sales consultant, and will be responsible for business development in the Midwest United States, as well as special projects as required, according to a news release.

In a second recognition ceremony by the Texas state legislature in recent weeks, Division Laundry & Cleaners Inc. of San Antonio was saluted on the floor of the Texas House of Representatives by their local state representative, who praised the company as a large and successful minority-owned enterprise that’s now marking its 80th anniversary.

Legislation introduced on behalf of TRSA recently passed both chambers of the Indiana General Assembly and has been signed into law by Gov. Eric Holcomb (R). The new law allows for employers to deduct the cost of uniform rental from an employees’ paycheck. The law goes into effect on July 1.

Cintas Corp., Mason, OH, recently announced a donation of more than 30,000 pieces of Cintas’ garments to The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Canada. The donation is valued at over $3 million, according to a news release.

TRSA associate member Thermopatch Corp., Syracuse, NY, recently announced a pair of hires to its accounting and sales departments, according to a news release.
